The barn-storming Jaguar XFR-S – Jaguar’s most powerful saloon car ever – has bowed in at LA. Full details and lots more photos of the new XFR-S. Following on from the XKR-S – and arriving in the same French Blue – the Jaguar XFR-S gets a 40 horse jump over the XFR – and an extra 41lb/ft of torque too – to offer a potentially BMW M5 competing 550HP and 502lb/ft of torque, enough to hit 62mph in 4.6 seconds and on to 186mph (not quite up with the M5, but getting there).
Nissan has unveiled a sketch of a compact car that it plans to sell around the world. The carmaker released few specifics, but the vehicle will be sold in more than 150 countries and is set to launch first in Thailand in March 2010. We’re not entirely convinced that Lexus has got their baby car quite right – we’d rather see it drop its rather harsh suspension setup and offer proper compact cosseting - but there’s a ready market from buyers wanting a touch of Japanese luxury in a more compact form. But it seems Lexus are at least heading in the direction they should with the CT 200h by launching a new range-topping model - the Lexus CT 200h Advance – with more toys as standard to appeal to the downsizer who wants their luxury setup ready-made.
